Texas PTA Summer Leadership Seminar 2007: A Letter from Texas PTA President Michelle Humphries I hope that you have begun your plans for Summer Leadership Seminar 2007. We will bring leaders from all over the state to Austin for a fantastic event.
Attending the Summer Leadership Seminar is one of the most important activities you can do to ensure the success of your PTA and motivate the members.
The DCPTA Texas Life Membership Luncheon was a tremendous success!! The honorary Texas Life Membership is one of the highest honors that may be presented to individuals for outstanding service to children and youth. Our speaker Matrice Ellis-Kirk received the prestigious award along with numerous PTA members and volunteers. A big thank you to the Adam's Mark Hotel, Council President Walter Price, LML Chair Kitty Ring, the Madison High School Band as well as all their associates who helped make this luncheon a day to remember. Remember to make plans to attend next year's Luncheon. See you there!!
Dallas Council of PTAs General/Election Meeting These meetings are for ALL PTA members, Principals and PTA Presidents. Reminder: Only schools that have paid their State, National and Council dues will be eligible to vote on any Council business. Each school has a maximum of four votes: the Principal and her/his designee, the PTA President and his/her designee and up to two Delegates or their Alternates.
The Dallas Council of PTAs and PTA members across the state of Texas are reaching out to children and their families affected by hurricane Katrina. Thousands of people from hurricane disaster areas are going to be evacuated to Texas. Many of those are going to be children, and those children are going to be allowed in Texas public schools. The Dallas Independent School District is scrambling to find space, supplies and textbooks for what could be very many students.
