No Child Left Behind Public Forum Focuses on Entitlement Plan, Thursday MAY 22, 2003

Through the No Child Left Behind Act, federal funds are allocated to states and then to local agencies, including the Dallas Independent School District. 

Parents and community members are invited to provide input for the most effective use of these funds and other federal funds related to before-and after-school programs, within the guidelines of legislation. 

A public forum to discuss the local entitlement plan will be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Avenue. 

Programs to be reviewed include Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV and Title V. These programs address fair and equal opportunity especially for low income students; teacher and principal training and
recruitment; technology; English language acquisition; safe and drug free schools and communities; education reform and school improvement.
